1.Preface:

MES GCC (Autonomous), being a leading education Institute, aspires to add courses related to Design and Innovation, to create additional career opportunity for her Commerce and Management students. It is also evident that a progressive society, like India, is shifting from basic knowledge to applied knowledge which can be fulfilled through this Course. The objective of the present course is to cater to the need of creating such a creative task force for the industry.

 2.Need of the PG Diploma:

In today’s competitive world, companies need trained and creative manpower with interdisciplinary knowledge. They need this to leverage for their sustenance and growth. Any Business venture sustains and grows only when its target customers consistently appreciate and avail its products/ services offered. In today’s competitive world, old product augmentations and new product design is a perpetual opportunity that every business venture must grab! Hence, Companies, perennially engage teams of creative minds to identify gaps and convert product opportunities into viable business plans. Such creative heads are highly coveted in the corporate world and often report directly to the senior executives or directors. Design being a vast area, there is tremendous scope for expansion and formulation of a number of dedicated courses that weave elements from both the disciplines – management studies and design studies. This PG Diploma will be the foundation stone in this regard.

3.Objectives of the Diploma:

  • To equip the students with the necessary knowledge and skills for being a self-driven creative task force for the industry.
  • To generate new solutions which will be useful to companies and society at large.
  • To keep pace with the changing educational requirements with respect to knowledge application.
  • To Identify the Design aptitude and Ideation capabilities of the students, nurture them for appropriate knowledge application, oriented towards utility enhancement and business opportunities.

4.Learning Outcome:

  • Student completing the course is expected to demonstrate his/her creative thinking through innovative ideas.
  • Students are expected to acquire the abilities of the management of innovations useful to companies and the society at large.
  • Learners from different study areas such as technical, managerial, administrative, will get an opportunity to bridge the gaps to make their design abilities and skill sets applicable to the real-life situation.
  • Students will understand the design process in a systematic way, will be able to find new entrepreneurial avenues.

5.Eligibility for the admission:

Any graduate from BBA (all disciplines), MBA (all disciplines), BE (Mech, Met, Production, Elect, Electronics & Instrumentation), B.Com. For the intake, students will be selected based on the merit & aptitude test conducted by the college.

10.Evaluation pattern

The evaluation pattern will be 40% Formative Assessment & 60% summative assessment.Formative assessment will be based on the parameters enlisted below:

  • Student self-initiative, group work ability, leadership quality
  •  Content – Quantity as well as Quality during submission
  • Time Management
  •  Exclusiveness – intellectual quotient.
  • Summative Assessment will be conducted at the end of each semester.

11.Teaching Sources:

The College will make available the best faculties from the respective study-areas and industry.

12.Infrastructure:

Adequate infrastructure including the classrooms, computer labs, staffroom, library facility, educational aids and other essentials are made available on the campus.

13.Certification will be conferred upon by:
